The first order of business was to have an election of officers. Since the Contest Coordinator, Webmaster and Scoring positions are volunteered the current people holding those positions agreed to stay on. That being Tom Kiesling as coordinataor; Jose Bruzual as Webmaster and Anker Berg-Sonne as Scorekeeper.
Dave Walter accepted the nomination for President and was voted in and Paul Bell accepted the nomination for Sec/Treas. and was voted in. The term is for two years.
Tom Broeski made a motion to lower the required attendance at an ESL contest to 15 people. It was seconded by Anker Berg-Sonne. After some discussion indicating that perhaps with no minium it would promote better attendance. The motion was then adjusted to have no minium requirements for attendance by Josh Glaab and seconded by Tom Boreski. It was voted in favor of the motion. (The 20 people rule was no doubt made when there was an average of 70 people attending, which caused no problem and also that Level 5 wins could be attained.)
A motion was made by Phil Barnes to have a separate Hand Launch Glider Division of ESL with its own awards and contest dates. It was seconded by Fritz Bien. Some discussion followed and it was agreed that the HL Division would not interfere with the regular ESL TD contests, would still be required to pay the ESL the $2.00 per person service fee and it must be scheduled on the ESL Calendar. It was agreed to set up a committee to make their own rules other than the above.
A motion was made to eliminate skegs, but it was not seconded.
We filled out the ESL calendar for 2005 including HL contests and it was approved pending the Nats dates not interfering. If there are to be changes the membership will be notified by email.
