If you have a ride to offer or are looking for a ride to share, post here.
If you are looking to share a motel room, post it here.
And, if you have a room to offer in your home for rent or trade, you may be able
to arrange an recripical offer at a contest you attend. That's up to you.
ESL can not gurantee the character of the people who post here. We
all know that sailplane contest flyers are obsessive/compulsive types
so take that into considertion. On the other hand, talking planes
sure makes the trip go faster

For the LISF HL contest I staid at The Best Western Woodbury Inn, the room was nice and clean, they serve a Continental
breakfast, they also have a pool and they are a skip and a hop from the field,
near by there are a couple of diners and a stake house up the street as well as a Starbucks
- the couple of bucks you save staying another hotel 20 min away are not worth it... |

Any opinions on Battle Row Campground? Seems like a much better deal than the room I reserved. I can cancel the room until 4PM Thursday.

Here's some info on Battle Row:
Battle Row Campground
Old Bethpage, Claremont Road; located in the eastern part of Nassau County.

Comprising 44 acres of campground and dense woods, Battle Row is an ideal place to relax with family and friends. Battle Row has 64 campsites ranging in length from 40 to 45 feet, with more than half of these equipped with water and 30amp/125-volt electric hookups. A comfort station is equipped with restrooms and private showers. The campground also offers swings; a recreational field; a softball field; a rally field for club group camping; and tent and overflow campsites (unimproved). Leisure Pass holders receive resident rate.
Season: April – November.
Directions: Take the Long Island Expressway to Exit 48 South (Round Swamp Road). Go about one mile to Bethpage-SweetHollow Road and make a left. Make a right onto Claremont Street. Entrance is on the right.
Or,
Take Sunrise Highway to Route 110 North. Proceed to Spagnoli Road and turn left. Follow Spagnoli Road to Claremont Road. Make a left and then a right into the campground.
For out of towners, the prices are as follows:
if you are bringing a tent $18/night
if you are bringing a RV $26/night
This is the cheapest stay I have ever heard of on long Island!!

I scouted out some additional models this morning.
All of these are right near exit 40 of the Long Island Expressway and less tan 10 minutes from the field.

He said if we booked a block of 10 or more rooms he could do $75 a night.
The room I saw was worn but clean and serviceable. I would be OK to stay there.
