David,

Kinda way outside ESL framework, but have you looked at using this for an ALES electric contest?

Basically a MOM contest and once you launch the planes is should score about the same way. I can't think of any issues, but would be interested in your thoughts.

Our club is going to run an ALES contest in the spring and I thought it this program should work.

ALES - No Problem!

We have used ESLScore for club contests quite a bit. You can do raw scores (a.k.a. Open Winch), man on man, or even seeded man on man.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Version 1.02 has been posted to the first message in this thread.

Updating is only necessary if you are a CD and wish to download contests from the internet from a computer with only the "Windows .Net Client Framework".

Thanks go to Luis for reporting the problem.

Version 1.04 has been posted to the first message in this thread.

This release contains a single bug fix. Logic added to correct sort rounding error in Seeded MOM group assignments. Group assignments could be incorrect when the difference in total contest score was less than one.

Thanks go to Luis for reporting the error and supplying a contest file that demonstrated the problem.

The new feature allows you to run a mixed group contest, but 'unmix' the group assignments on a per-round basis. When used for the last round of the day, it will ensure that the leading non-expert flyer will only have to fly against other non-experts.

David,

1) Version 1.07 of the ESL Scoring software doesn't let me create a contest from the Internet. It seems to be going to an obsolete location, but trying to fix the address hasn't worked.

2) I'm starting to use the ESL scoring software v 1.07 for club TD contests at LISF. It would be nice for us if the output to the spreadsheet has the same option to separate the classes as the printer output does. Otherwise, we have to continue entering expert and sportsman as separate contests, so that each shows someone making 100% in the standings.

Hoping this is a modification that appeals to you and that others will have some use for it,

Trevor

Trevor,

The 'create a contest from the Internet' function requires you to be a CD of an ESL contest. Phil Abatelli is the current registrar for LISF I and II and can add you as a CD if he chooses. Once the contest is open for registration, the function will create an ESLScore file including the registered pilots.

I'm glad to hear you are using it for club contests. There may be a way to do what you want with the current version. I'll look into it and get back to you in a few days.

David,

Sounds like the simplest way is for us to enter pilot information by hand for our club TD contests. The pilot IDs assigned in the database will be different to the ESL's, but that may never be an issue.

Looking forward to any ideas you might come up with for the other issue.

Thanks for the quick response,

Trevor
