Tough day today. I had early morning distance flights and lost by too laps loosing 100 points. Just short of finishing my 19th lap. A 950 would have been OK.
Speed was a real crap shoot. We flew two rounds of speed today. I had an early draw for the first speed flight so thermals hadn't started. Last pilot in the round had huge air and I ended up with a 800 point speed round and 2700 point round 2.
Third round of speed was similar. I had a later draw. Perkins had an early flight and the best air and by far the fastest speed run of the day. I only had 830 points on that one. Averaging around 18.5 seconds which will be a good average if conditions stay the same for the week.
In 13th after 2 1/3 rounds. Top US position is Zaballos just ahead of me in 12th. Plenty of bad air speed runs for the US pilots today and some tough distance flights. Tomorrow should be a better day.
